As the moment draws closer

e'lo...its been 24 days after the competition.. and still practicing very very hard.. and i bet the whole band is as tired as i am..but for the love of our passion..we shall be march on..lol..but as I'm writing this i can't shake the feeling of panic? adrenaline rush? anxious? happy? hrmm... all these roll into one giant ball of feeling that I'm going through now. We have two more days before we start our journey to KL for the national finals.. hehehehe.. 7 of us in 1 MPV.. that shall be a road trip to remember. Everything is in place , song finally done tweaking.. and now. . we shall RULE!!!.. oh.. ahem* ... =P

i think we shall just try our very best in KL in hopes of achieving some satisfying results..and have fun.. i wold like to thank me bro Kelvin Teow for booking a jamming studio for us to practice in KL.. thanks bro..not forgetting Kelvyn Yeang and Chiat from Ocean Of Fire for lending us guitars and Mark .

To Zero Origin......

all I want to say is......WELL DONE!

We have a very tight competition to deal with........High Society,D'strawberry,Red Alert,Blackwood,Eguana,silver tortoise and One Last Decision! they are all very good and at their top ends...which bring the level up.......{hard to win}

Thanks to Kevin{Vocalist/Rhythm Guitarist},Wee{Lead Guitarist},Ken{Drummer} without you guys......there are no "ZERO ORIGIN"!

We had won 2nd placing in the Yamaha Asean Beat Band competetition 2008 that we have been waited for at least 8 years! To Wee, We have trust in you.......don't worry! Without single of us.....we can't get to where we are now!

Asean Beats 2008

Finally .....

2nd November... shall be a day to remember for Zero Origin...it started a month back when we were pondering to join the Asia beat competition. Then Chiat from Ocean of Fire encouraged us to join the competition for exposure and experience... so we tought ...HHmmmm one month to prepare for the competition...yea ... why not?? So the journey starts... we practiced and practiced...( actually 2 nights a week ... lol) and with the help of chiat to guide us..

So as the day draws close ..we prepared our selves .. (like any typical "Rocky movie" )... ermm.. yea...on the 1st nov 2008, its the heats of the Northern region..we were gearing up for the competition..afer a month long of preperation.. at noon we met at our basists( crispin @ boon) new house and had b'fast..then went for sound check....at 3...after the sound check, we went back to crispin's house to shower and prepare for the heats...then come 6 we went for our last minute practice...and the heats started at 7.30pm , we waited our turn till 9++ as ...( 2 weeks ago i went to lots drawing to determine the playing slot.. needless to say.. i got number 10 out of 13 bands.. sigh.. now back to our story) we were the 10th band to play out of 13 bands.. so we waited in agony..and got up the stage and did our stuff..it went well despite trouble with the balance of the sound..and our drummer's (Ken) hitter came flying out of the pedal..in the last seconds of the song..talk bout luck.. haha..
All the other 12 bands there were a tough opponent to beat..but friendly people... very... at the end of the nite.. we were thrilled when we were announced one of the finalist for the next day..


Come the next day ..its started out pretty much like the previous day.. but by 7.30 we got nervous again as we were drawn as the 3rd band to play.. right before we played .. ken ,cris and wee(guitarist) opted for their elixir.. BEER... i cant have beer before competition..too bad ..makes my throat dry..cant sing lol...so...at 9ish.. we went up and did our thing.. but this time ..we told our selves that we have nothing to lose and we shall go all out to achieve something..at least.. 7 1/2 minutes later.. we exited the stage while feeling pretty darn good.. cos we did what we came to do..we were congratulated by other bands as we exited the stage..

THEN i went to buy a few cans of beer to celebrate with the band..by the time all the bands played we got worried as all of the bands that played in the final were great.. after the last band played the judges went to calculate the points for all bands .. while a guest band ( a friend) entertained us .

After some time..i have no idea how long ..as it seems to take forever.. haha.. the judges came back... then the announcer asked the contestants to go to the front of the stage while the results were being announced. all the individual awards went to the band High Society, needless to say they were very professional..when all the individual awards were all presented .. its was time for the top three awards every one has been competing for these past 2 days...

so naturally me and the guys were standing in front of the stage .. hoping for a 3rd place... as we thought 1st and 2nd were out of our reach as its a very tough competition... when they announced the 2nd runner up.. it went to the band " One Live Decision " .. .. i was like Damn....there goes our chance of any prize.. i turned over and told the band...well at least we gave our best shot and had fun.. so we waited for the announcer to present the 1st runner up... there were a few bands in my head i thought was gonna take up the spot...when he announced...ZZZEEERROOO OOORRRIIGGIINNN!!!!! i went WTF!!! we actually won 1st runner up.....cant belief my F***ing self..lol... and we went to collect our trophy ..and photos... before the winner was announced we had a pretty good idea which band is gonna win.. and true enough..it was High Society..

Most of all i would like to thank my boo's support , band Crispin,Wee and Ken for their hard work and dedication and fun .Chiat for his guidance, DNA studio, Hafiz for lending us his crash cymbal , and every one who supported us all the way....Sob...Sob...

So next we are looking for more practice by the end of the month High Society, Zero Origin and One life Decision are representing Penang to compete in KL.. wish us luck... frost signing off...hopefully the photos will be uploaded soon ,,,..

To Zero Origin …

I with my blue head now …later will wash back to my black + white hair ..why not now ? is because I really happy and HIGH want to say thank to so many friend.. thank to Zero Origin …thank Kevin to invite me to be a part of Zero Origin, thank Crispin & Ken to support and give me confidence in the band. Thank to ocean of fire 2^nd guitarist chiat to lead us n teach me, sharing with me lot in solo part , thank to my X-drummer wei come to support, thank to my dear to support for wish to go KL shopping hahaha… thank mike & friend, thank the everyone in DNA studio thank the duck rice boss, thank the tiger beer ,thank pikopita & hildy free for photo shoot

I so suprice that we can get the win in tonight …I just keep the mind of nothing to lose , I join Zero Origin around 1year + , I try to learn the song in the short time, but I know still not so prefect in few song, I keep learning from each other , and I know my guitar very well, I know well is not mean I can play well, I just know my level until where.. don’t wan to improve ? NO ….. I will , I also hope that I can play what the band want or what the band need ..don’t worry guy ..i will try to understand the basic , try to improve my guitar …I promise …give me some time..(the time not mean 27day ya)

Tonight 2 Nov 2008 very important for me …(I think is very important for 4 of us) that is a day we wait for so many year. TONIGHT we Zero Origin won the Northern Region 2^nd of the 2008-2009 Asian Beats.

I promise myself , I will using 2 year in Zero Origin to have some result , tonight no need wait until 2 year, already get the result,what I can say ? thank to you guy … vocal, bassist, drummer ….thank a lot to give me a oportunity to be a part of ZO …thank lot …
